Big Changes To Ra Bonuscash And End Of Plenti
It’s April the 4th of 2018 and I need to talk to you about plenti going away forever. Change is coming to Bonus Cash and it’s a very good thing. You need to sigh up for a new card at Rite Aid. This memo that I have here in my hand came out on a Monday at corporate out to the stores. Some people have already posted it on Instagram or on the Internet.
I’m not going to post a picture of it. I don’t feel that’s appropriate for me to do. I am good with it and I’m going to read portions of this for you. Let’s first talk about plenti going away. American Express owns plenti, they’re the ones who created it.
The American Express and the existing partners have decided to discontinue the plenti program due to the limited number of participating retailers. Then down to bottom it says on July the 10th the plenti program ends. Plenti points will no longer be accepted in our stores or in any other plenti partners.
You need to spend your planning points at any place until July the 10th. I’ll still take planning points and you can probably still earn some stores such as Exxon and you can still earn points. It does not say what’s going to happen on July 10th if you haven’t spend them.
They probably go away and you lose whatever you had. So you need to spend them as soon as you can. I don’t have that problem. I got a couple of cards such as rite-aid and more. In plenti cards I have a dollar 46 sticks on one of them. I can’t spend it so it’ll go away and I’ll lose it.
Let’s talk about registering for a new wellness account. As of today they’re not hand out any more cards. You can’t get a plenti card anymore or a Wellness card. You can register for an account with them. They have a simplified registration thing. They want everybody to use their phone number and type it in that little keypad.
If someone physically wants a card and you request one at the time when you’re signing up,you can put your address in there too. They’ll mail it to you or you can call a customer service. You can also go online and request a card and they’ll mail it to you. That’s the only way you can get a card now.
If you have set up a current plenti card or wellness account you can keep using it as normal. It says you can still use your plenti card which you have to access your account in the store. You can keep doing what you’re doing if you already have an account. It still doesn’t say anything about having a PIN number so I don’t know about that. Here’s the big change about Bonus Cash and this is what we want. Let me read this to you.
On April the 16th,the wellness plus Bonus Cash enhancements will roll out to the chain. You can ask and we will listen. We’ve made important enhancements to the way that Bonus Cash works. Bonus cash will occur accrue in a wallet and collect a total dollar amount available to spend. The money you previously earned in Bonus Cash will be converted into the dollar amount and added to the customers wallet.
The PIN pad will prompt the customer to use their available Bonus Cash or save it for later. For the spin bonus cash at any dollar amount, customers no longer have to spend at least the amount of the individually earned Bonus Cash. That’s a lot for us to get all at one time. It’s all the bonus cash you have and they are going to get lumped over into this wallet. It’s going to be a dollar amount available to spend in any dollar amount.
It doesn’t say that there’s a minimum amount. With plenti points, we had to have at least two dollars. I don’t know and it doesn’t say that. I don’t know if it’s a penny. I don’t know how they’re going to deal with expiration dates on this. It doesn’t get into that. That’s the other big question. Is it going to expire? At Walgreens, don’t you have a year or two before your points expire? Somewhere in the background that keeps tracking of those. I have no clue.
There will be a whole new set of rules that will come out with this on April the 16th. The other thing that that they’re saying is supposed to be when we can start seeing how much in it. It’s all going to be lumped into one dollar amount such as the plenti points. It’ll show on the receipt on how much bonus cash you have and like it did with the plenti points.
